Privacy Policy
Last Updated: January 14, 2025
Effective Date: January 14, 2025
Our Commitment to Your Privacy
At Pocket2Utils, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how the Pomoto Chrome Extension ("the Extension", "Pomoto", "we", "us", or "our") handles your information. The short version: we don't collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data.
Information We Do NOT Collect
Pomoto is designed with privacy in mind. We do not collect, store, or transmit:
- Personal information (name, email, phone number, address)
- Browsing history or website data
- Usage analytics or tracking data
- Timer session data or productivity metrics
- Location information
- Device information beyond what's necessary for functionality
- Any files or documents from your computer
- Search queries or keyboard inputs
- Screenshots or visual data
- Audio recordings or microphone access
Local Data Storage
Pomoto stores the following information locally on your device only:
Settings Data
- Timer Preferences: Work time, break time, long break time, and number of rounds
- Theme Selection: Your chosen color theme
- Sound Settings: Sound enabled/disabled, volume level, and selected notification sounds
- Current Timer State: Whether a timer is running, paused, or stopped
How Local Storage Works
- All data is stored using Chrome's built-in storage API
- Data remains on your device and is never transmitted to external servers
- If Chrome sync is enabled, Chrome may sync your settings across your devices
- You can clear this data by removing the extension or clearing Chrome's extension data
Chrome Extension Permissions
Pomoto requests the following permissions from Chrome, and here's exactly why we need each one:
Storage Permission
Why needed: To save your timer settings (work time, break time, themes, etc.) so they persist between browser sessions.
What it does: Allows the extension to store and retrieve your preferences locally on your device.
Notifications Permission
Why needed: To notify you when timer sessions complete, even when the extension popup is closed.
What it does: Displays system notifications when work or break periods end.
Alarms Permission
Why needed: To keep timers running accurately in the background.
What it does: Allows the extension to schedule and manage timer events reliably.
ActiveTab Permission
Why needed: To update the extension badge with remaining time.
What it does: Allows the extension to show timer information in the extension icon badge.
Offscreen Permission
Why needed: To play notification sounds when timer sessions complete.
What it does: Enables audio playback for timer completion sounds.
Important: These permissions are used solely for the timer functionality. We do not access your browsing data, personal information, or any content from websites you visit.
Third-Party Services
Pomoto does not integrate with, connect to, or share data with any third-party services, analytics platforms, or external servers. The extension operates entirely offline after installation.
Chrome Web Store
The only external interaction occurs when you install or update the extension through the Chrome Web Store, which is governed by Google's privacy policies, not ours.
No External Connections
- No data is sent to our servers (we don't have any)
- No analytics or tracking scripts
- No advertising networks
- No social media integrations
- No external APIs or services
Children's Privacy
Pomoto does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. Since we don't collect any personal information from any users, this protection extends to users of all ages. If you are under 18, please have a parent or guardian review this privacy policy.
Chrome Sync
If you have Chrome Sync enabled in your Google account, your Pomoto settings may be synchronized across your Chrome browsers on different devices. This synchronization is handled entirely by Google Chrome and is subject to Google's privacy policies. We do not have access to or control over this synchronization process.
What Gets Synced
- Timer duration preferences
- Theme selection

Managing Sync
You can disable extension sync in Chrome settings if you prefer to keep settings local to each device.
